Bedding Lord Ned (Duchess of Love, #1)Bedding Lord Ned by Sally MacKenzie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bedding Lord Ned is a sweet little novel about a woman who has been in love with a man for as long as she can remember. But now she is twenty-six, she wants to settle down and have kids – even if it’s not with the man she loves. But, obviously, since this is a romance novel, she ends up with him anyway.

I quite liked Ellie’s character. She’s clumsy, witty and a strong(ish) female character. But she did ‘eep’, ‘eek’ and ‘ack’ a lot. Which, in books, always sounds a bit cheesy.

I also liked Lord Ned’s character. He’d gone through a great loss and had finally started to get over it. Some of the thoughts he had about Ellie were quite funny, too.

It would have been nice if this book had had an epilogue with Ellie and Ned having had a baby (as Ned had been scared of having children, ever since his first wife died in childbirth). But, hopefully, they’ll have one in the next (Lord Jack’s) book!
